I'm a Swiss citizen who left the country roughly 10 years ago, in large part due to how socially conservative the country is — something that finds its way in even the smallest part of my life there.
Yesterday was a voting day for the most xenophobic reform proposal I ever had to consider: having a strict cap on the country population to 10 million. I'm so glad to see it rejected!
55% of No votes isn't as strong of a message as I would like, given how ridiculous the proposal was, but is still a clear push back against the right momentum.
As a small anedocte, I spent some time in my hometown last month, it has been so nice to see pride flags all around, and in general a place that feels more open to changes and human development when compared to the place I left.
Anyway, just glad to see that result. Here is a picture of a view I missed very much.
